Recently, Coach Morrison’s 2017-18 swimming and diving team helped capture her 600th career win. Coach Morrison has been head coach here at CAJSHS for the last 29 years.

Coach Morrison mentioned, “It was great to be able to capture my 600th victory with my current team.  They have worked very hard and played a big part in this accomplishment.  It was especially nice to be able to share this with the senior swimmers since they were undefeated many seasons and added quite a few victories over the years.”

Besides being a head coach for the swimming and diving team, Coach Morrison is also a Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor and helps educate and staff the Community Pool with lifeguards.

When asked how she felt about this huge accomplishment, Coach Morrison said, “The 600 wins was a great milestone for the program but it was never a goal for me.  My goals are to help guide student-athletes to their fullest potential possible while they are in my program. Each swimmer has unique goals and my job is provide them knowledge and opportunities to reach his/her goals.  I try to share my experiences with the athletes so that it might help them make better decisions and motivate them to dream big when it comes to goal setting.  My biggest reward as a coach and teacher is when I see that the kids do great things and are successful in life after graduation and maybe our little program played a part teaching them some life lessons that helped them along the way.  That is truly my favorite part about coaching.”

Editor’s Note: (For the last two years I have been a diver for the Clearfield high school swimming and diving team, and I can say whole heartedly that I am very glad that I decided to do so. It has taught me a lot about consistency, and commitment, and I find the sport to be very enjoyable. Before I joined the diving team though, Coach Morrison helped me while I was getting my lifeguard certification, and while I was working at the Clearfield Community Pool. She is a very great Coach who cares about every single member of the team.)
