2019 prom committee working hard

Sydney Shaw, Staff Writer

Prom 2019’s date has been decided: Saturday, May 4.

Members of the prom committee meet every Monday during activity period to make these decisions in Ms. Huff’s room, 108. Currently, there are many members in the committee: Mclain Alt, Janessa Baez, Madison Davis, Madilyn Domico, Erika Frye, Avry Grumblatt, Anna Hale, Madison Lewis, Parker Marshall, Austin McDanel, Adrian Rowles, Sydney Shaw, Bella Spingola, Taylor Trinidad, Alyssa Twigg, Kimberly Wilsoncroft, and Cruz Wright.  Ms. Huff and Mrs. McGranor are the two teachers who host the prom committee club.

In the few meetings that the committee has had, a multitude of things have been decided. Prom will be held on May 4, 2019, at the Florian Banquet Hall; however, a specific time has not been decided yet. This year’s theme will be, “A Night of 1,000 Lights” and will focus around lights and how they emphasize beauty.

While on the topic of theme, the committee is currently making decisions on everyone’s favorite part of prom: the favor! It has been decided that this year’s favor will be some type of cup. However, due to the unpopularity of last year’s stemless wine glass, this year’s favor will be more similar to a travel cup, mug, or tumbler.

In order to afford copious amount of these high quality cups, prom committee will be doing multiple fund-raisers. There has not been a final decision on what two of the fund-raising ideas will be chosen. If you are a Junior and have any fund-raising ideas, prom-related information, or want to join prom committee, feel free to stop in to Ms. Huff’s room during activity period.
