Team Takes Third at K’nex Competition

Chuck Gardner, Staff Writer

Recently, advisors Mrs. Grice and Mr. Way took students from the high school Enrichment Program to participate in the K’nex Challenge held at Lock Haven University.

Parts of the competition consisted of a journal, which was diary of the team’s journey from start to finish, and a blueprint, which could be a photo, drawing, cad drawing, etc. Students were able to present this on a tablet/laptop.

The project had to have at least one motor and could not exceed 1,400 K’nex pieces. Each presentation was two minutes or less, and students had to present their inventory and cost.

Mrs. Grice had a team of 6th grade students that placed third in the competition. The project theme was anything that could be used in the home, and it had to be environmentally friendly. The team created an automatic window washer for a house. The team consisted of Ruby Singleton, Bella Walls, and Amy-Melissa Ammerman.
