As the holiday season begins, it is time to start getting into the spirit by watching different holiday-related movies and shows. There are many to choose from, including well known classics like The Grinch and The Polar Express, yet some holiday movies do not get the attention they deserve. This month, I decided to do a movie review in hopes of getting to see a Christmas movie that becomes a new favorite. I chose to watch Klaus, a movie I had never heard of before, and it definitely delivered.

Klaus is a PG, animated adventure comedy that can be found on Netflix. The plot follows Jesper, a young postman who gets stationed in the wretched island town of Smeerensburg. To get out, Jesper must deliver 6,000 letters, yet the townspeople are more focused on their longtime civil war than writing. In Jesper’s quest to find mail, he ends up meeting a mysterious carpenter who lives alone in a cabin in the woods full of toys.

I definitely recommend watching this heart-lifting movie. Although I felt it started kind of slow, by the end I was completely invested into the story, and I believe that it is a movie that everyone should see. It delivers a very good message that one act of kindness always sparks another, and the selfless acts of the characters are inspiring. If you are looking for a warm Christmas movie to watch with your family this year, I completely recommend Klaus.
