Making Simple Paper Flowers

Tracy Zhu, Staff Writer

Do you ever have free time with nothing to do? Or maybe you need a last-minute present for someone? Well, here is a quick and easy craft to make. This paper flower craft takes very little time, yet it still looks great!

Materials:

  • Paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue (or something that will stick the paper together)

1. Get a long rectangular piece of paper and make sure the longer side is to the top. Fold the paper, bringing the top to the bottom. Then, unfold the paper.

2. Put glue on the bottom of the paper and fold it back down, following the previous crease made.

3. Across the top where it is not glued, cut the rectangle into individual strips. Cut it approximately three-fourths of the way.

4. Get a separate piece of square paper and slowly roll one end of the paper to the other.

5. Before finishing, add some glue to the end of the paper to seal it. This will be the stem of the flower.

6. Place the rectangle piece of paper with the cut end further out and place the stick at the end with no cuts. Then, add glue to the side that the stem is on. Roll both the rectangle and paper together until you reach the end.

7. Put more glue on if needed to secure the craft.

8. Spread out the flower petals, and you are done!
