Spring is approaching, which means the 2023 baseball season is upon us. The Bison baseball team had an excellent season last year and had many seniors. I got to speak with Junior Cole Bloom about the upcoming season.

Q: What position do you play?

A: I am a catcher.

Q: How do you feel about the upcoming season?

A: I think we will be very competitive and have success.

Q: What changes will be made after losing the seniors?

A: I think a lot of upperclassmen will step up to the lead the team.

Q: Who are the returning letter winners?

A: Returning letter winners are myself, Morgen Billotte, Hunter Rumsky, Elijah Quick, and Isaac Durandetta.

Q: What changes have been made in the coaching staff for this season?

A: In the previous season, Sid Lansberry, Brian Barr, Drew Bryan, and Brandon Billotte coached. Sid Lansberry and Brandon Billotte remain, but the new coaches are Shaun Quick, Andy Bloom, and Thayne Morgan.

Q: What kind of training have you guys done in the off season?

A: It’s been hard without the batting cages in Hyde, so we have had to move around a lot and have had a lot of adversity, but we are still training in batting cages and are going to be ready for the season.

Q: What are the goals for the team this season?

A: Our goal is to have a good record and hopefully win another District Championship.
