Interview with Mrs. Covert

Anna Twigg

Two years ago, office secretary Mrs. Covert joined our school office staff. Although many have got the pleasure of meeting her, maybe some of you haven’t. I asked Mrs. Covert some questions about herself and her job here at the school.

Q: What is your favorite part of your job?

A: “My favorite part of my job is that it’s always changing. My role is different every day. No two days are ever the same!”

Q: What are your job duties in a day?

A: “My duties include answering phone calls and directing them to the proper person. When parents come in to pick their student up, verify who they are picking up. Managing club accounts, fundraisers, and making checks out for purchases. Among several other things that come up during the day!”

Q: What is the most difficult part about your job?

A: “ I can not say there is much about this job that is too difficult. Everyone in the workplace is very helpful and we all work together to make sure things go smoothly.”

Q: What do you like doing outside of school/work?

A: “Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. Hiking, sitting around a fire, and just enjoying the company of who I’m with.”

Q: What are you looking forward to in the summer?

A: My summer plans are to spend as much time with my two daughters as I can! I am lucky enough to be off for most of the summer. We are going to the beach, camping, and swimming lots!”

Hopefully this article allowed you to learn more about someone working in our school. If you see Mrs. Covert around the school, make sure to thank her for all she does!
