“The Rainbow Factory” by Isaiah Snyder

Kira Knox, Staff Writer

Isaiah Snyder is a sophomore here at Clearfield High School. He has turned his dreams into a reality by publishing a children’s book that he wrote all on his own. Isaiah has a lot to say about the process and experience writing his own book.

What made you want to write a children’s book?

The children’s book just started out as a thought because I saw a rainbow. About six days later, my 8th grade English teacher told us that we had to write a children’s story. So that gave me the full push to write that specific story.

What is the message behind the book?
The meaning behind the book is to make sure to check things before assuming somethings. Also, there is a huge meaning in the story about being careful with the things you do. I also just want to inspire people and show them that anyone of any age can become an author.

What was the writing process like?

The writing process was actually quite easy, but that might be because I enjoy writing. Writing the story was a lot easier than drawing the pictures. The publishing journey was very long, but everyone at Dorrance Publishing was very kind and helpful.

Do you have plans on writing more children books in the future?

Yes, I have many plans to keep writing more children books in the future. I already have an idea for my next book. I might also try out different genres in the future.

Who or what inspired you to start writing?

In all honesty, I’m not 100% sure who or what inspired me. I just really enjoy writing and it is a great way for me to relax and release my feelings; writing has always been there. The support from many teachers and friends has inspired me to continue writing, and I plan to keep writing in the future.

Isaiah Snyder has already begun living out his dreams at such a young age, which is truly admirable. You can purchase his book  on Dorrance Publishing Bookstore website. Congratulations to Isaiah on such a big accomplishment!
