In today’s day and age, everything is expensive, and money is a necessity to live. Therefore, it is important for everyone to have access to money. That’s why having a job is important whether you’re a full adult or a teenager still in school. Saving money is very important as well. There are a lot of places in Clearfield that have great job opportunities for minors that are still in school and do sports and other activities outside of school.

Having a job as a teen is especially important to learn financial independence and responsibility with money. Having and saving money is also very important as a teenager because you’ll have more money in the future if you start saving as soon as possible;  you’ll have access to money to go hangout with friends and buy things you might need or simply want. You have to remember that your parents most likely won’t pay for you all your life. Creating a budget is another great way to save money and still have some left to have fun with. Having a job is important not only for the income, but also for experience in the workplace and getting a head start in the real world before you graduate high school.

For our students here in Clearfield, there are quite a few job opportunities, from restaurant-type jobs to retail. Some of the restaurants in Clearfield County that hire teens are McDonalds, Burger King, Dutch Pantry, Arby’s, Buck’s Pizza, Sid’s, Dented Keg Brewing Co., and Dairy Queen. Although there are more restaurant jobs than retail, there are still a couple, including Walmart, JG Food Warehouse, Shoe Sensation, Lowe’s, Dollar General, Rural King, and Tractor Supply.

These are a few of the many job opportunities in Clearfield that hire minors. All you need to do to apply for a job is make sure the place you want to work is hiring, get an application filled out, and have some sort of identification to prove that you’re you, and then you’re set.
