Hogzilla is a famous hog that gained all of its fame back in 2004. It was reportedly shot and killed in Southern Georgia, by Chris griffin (31) and quickly became the stuff of legends (Monster swine) Hogzillla was real, experts say, 2005). The hog was said to be an enormous size, weighing in at around 1,000 pounds and measuring over 12 feet long. Can you imagine that?
Now, there’s been lots of controversy surrounding Hogzilla’s actual size and whether the story was exaggerated. Some believe that the hog was a hybrid of a domestic pig and a wild boar that was only around eight feet weighing about 800 pounds with giant tusk reaching 18in and 16in, setting a brand new international North American free range record. But in another account taken, it was said that an 11 year old boy killed a beast even bigger then the one killed in 2004, saying the beast weighed in at 1,051 pounds, and 9 feet and 4 inches saying that it had hams the size of car tires. Others think that the whole thing was just a big hogwash.
But regardless of the exact details, Hogzilla captured the imagination of people all over the world. It became a symbol of the wild and untamed, a reminder that nature can sometimes surprise us with its incredible creatures. I’m a strong believer in Hogzilla and there being more of them out there, but I wonder if their could be even larger ones than what has already been caught.
