This year’s lucky winners for prom King and Queen are Jacob Samsel and Nadia Libreatori.
Q- How did you like the prom?
Jacob Samsel (Prom King)
- The music choices were very good this year. Tons of people were dancing and that made it more fun. The snacks and drinks were refreshing after being up and moving around so much. The picture area was a cool concept since you could use different props and even print the pictures out and keep them.
Nadia Libreatori (Prom Queen)
- I thought that the prom was super nice! The photo booth was my favorite part! However, everyone needs to bust down more! Show off all their dance moves because YOLO.
Q- Are you surprised you became prom king/queen?
Jacob Samsel
- I was very surprised I became king because whenever I first saw my rose was red, I thought it wasn’t me. Before we got up there, I was under the impression that whoever got the white rose became king, so it really shocked me.
Nadia Libreatori
- I was super surprised at the moment! I wanted it so, so, so bad because my best friend, Amira Saadawi, was last prom queen and I wanted to follow in her footsteps! I was so nervous leading up to the decision, but I had a gut feeling about the rose I picked.
Q- How was the dance you shared with the king/queen?
Jacob Samsel
- The dance was fun. I really wasn’t sure what to do at first but Nadia sort of took control and made it look like we knew what we were doing.
Nadia Libreatori
- To be honest, I can barely remember it. I have no idea what the song we danced to was because I was on an adrenaline high.
Q- Lastly, since your time as a senior is coming to an end, what is your favorite memory?
Jacob Samsel
- My favorite memory has to be winning Districts in football this year. Our team went in as underdogs after losing a handful of seniors. We proved everyone wrong.
Nadia Libreatori
- My favorite memory of senior year was definitely winning prom queen (and telling Amira after), along with all my morning debriefs with my girls before school.
