Results of Goodwill Clothing Drive

Chuck Gardner, Staff Writer

The Goodwill Clothing Drive that ran the month of March until April 9 collected about 2,000 pounds of clothes at the high school and several hundred pounds at the elementary. Mr. Spence’s senior class along with the Life Skills students coordinated the drive this year.  The students came up with the March Madness theme, collected and weighed all the clothes, and kept track of the winning teams.

Goodwill helps support our students with career skills and supported employment.  The students really enjoyed collecting the clothes and knowing that they were helping others.  They learned math skills, social skills, and business strategies while working on this project.  The students and teachers, including Mr. Spence, Mrs. McKolosky, Miss Plyler, and Mrs. Mease, wish to thank everyone who took the time to donate to such an important cause and to help our students be a success.
