Talented Artists Compete in 2018 Shaw Library Art Show
May 29, 2018
As you may have seen around the school, we have many talented artists displaying their drawings, paintings, and sculptures. To further display their pieces in a competitive setting, students in grades 9-12 from Clearfield, Moshannon Valley, Philipsburg-Osceola and Curwensville high schools all participated in the Clearfield County High School Art Show.
The show was held at Shaw Public Library and was sponsored by The Susquehanna River Art Center (SRAC). There were over 160 pieces from neighboring schools entered in the show and 60 pieces from Clearfield students.
Local artists from the community and surrounding areas are asked to judge the show each year .Judging took place on April 21 and the winning pieces are tagged accordingly. An Art Show Reception was held May 17 from 6:30 -7:30 at the Shaw Public Library, and prizes were formally awarded and winners recognized.
Ms. Adams, art teacher here at CAJSHS states, “We are extremely proud of the high school students from around the area! They have put on a fantastic show that rivals that of professional artists.” The following list is of students who placed in the show.
