County Choir is at Clearfield this year

Katelynn Smith, Staff Writer

Clearfield Area Junior-Senior High School will be hosting this year’s County Choir festival. County choir is an ensemble created by students from the seven schools in Clearfield County (Clearfield, Curwensville, Glendale, Harmony, Moshannon Valley, Philipsburg-Osceola, and West Branch).

There are 147 students participating in Clearfield County Choir this school year. Thirty-three of these students are from Clearfield.

Students do not have to audition to participate in County Choir, however they must participate in County Choir in order to participate in the higher-level festivals (Districts, Regions, All-States, etc.).

County choir is an opportunity to meet people and make new friends. It allows some students the opportunity to perform harder choral literature than they may experience in their home choirs. “This is the first time Clearfield has hosted this specific festival since the renovations,” says Mr. Rothrock.

The concert will be held at the Clearfield High School on October 13.
