Atypical series combines romance, comedy, drama

If you are a person that enjoys romance, comedy, and drama, this is a perfect show for you. Atypical is a Netflix original series that focuses on the life of a teenage boy with autism. The show presents what his daily life consists of and how he is able to get through it all with the help of his friends and family. There are multiple occasions where he figures out how to handle a situation on his own, since he is now 18 and wants to learn how to be independent, but often finds that he needs others in his life to help him make better decisions.
Atypical introduces some of the situations that a child with autism experiences in his or her life, and it displays that people should be more understanding and open to these types of people rather than shun them because they act differently. The series includes instances where people treat the main character, Sam, poorly due to his condition and how these actions affect him. On the other hand, it also displays when people try to take the time to understand him and help him through tough situations.
I find this show to be a very progressive part of modern-day television due to its inclusive style. While the show does include dramatizing events to engage the audience, it still includes a very important message to its audience. It shows that everyone should be accepted into society even if it takes more time to understand and appreciate them for who they are, especially since people cannot choose or alter every aspect of themselves.
I strongly suggest checking out this show, for it has many aspects that will interest various viewer types; such as, being an outcast or successfully at the top of your class, there is a character that will fit almost any viewer that they can connect to.
