The Child Development Halloween Party will be held on October 27 at 1:00 p.m. and hosted by the students in the Child Development classes. The party will take place in room 217 and throughout the building.

Any child who is not in school and can attend is welcome to come, although it is usually faculty’s children or friends and the siblings of the students in the class who attend. Some activities that will be offered are the Halloween costume contest, crafts, games, and the Halloween parade/ trick or treating throughout the building.

The class is taught by Mrs. Brownlee and this will be her fifth year offering this event. She stated, “When I first started working here I really wanted Child Development to include real children.” The students learn how wild and great children can be. They also learn that they have to supervise everything when it comes to children. In this case, it will include the games, snacks, and crafts. From personal experience in this class, it was a great undertaking to participate in.

Child development is much more than just a textbook class. Students learn important details about how to take care of a child whether a student may want to be a parent when they are older or just have siblings that they may help take care of now. Through this event students get to relate to and understand different children’s personalities; they learn first-hand that no child is the same.
