Celebrate Thanksgiving with the ones closest to you
December 6, 2019
Thanksgiving is a time many people think about spending with your family and relatives you don’t see very much. However, Thanksgiving should also be a time you spend with friends to show them how thankful you are for them. Some people call this “Friendsgiving”. They choose a day close to the actual date of Thanksgiving to gather with all their friends.
They usually cook the food together and eat around the table all together. You can also plan out what each person is going to bring to the dinner. Afterward they may play board games, bake cookies or just hang out. It gives you time to all get together and talk to each other.
Friendsgiving was originally shown in the hit TV show Friends and people began to catch on and wanted to do it themselves. Then it became a tradition for many friend groups. Over the years, “Friendsgiving” seems to become more and more popular in older teens and people in their 20s.
Overall, “Friendsgiving” is likely to become extremely common in the next few years. This time is good to show your friends how much they mean to you, almost treating them like family. This also shows them how thankful you are for them and all they do for you. Thanksgiving is not only about family and distant relatives but also all your friends.
