Directed by Conrad Vernon and Greg Tiernan, “The Addams Family” is a rated PG family comedy film produced by Conrad Vernon, Gail Berman, Alexandra Schwartz and Alison O’Brien. It was released in theaters on Oct. 11. This movie is 1 hour and 45 minutes long and stars Oscar Isaac, Charlize Theron, Chloë Grace Moretz, Finn Wolfhard, Nick Kroll, Snoop Dogg, Bette Midler, Allison Janney, Martin Short and Catherine O’Hara. This movie is a spinoff of the original television series created in 1964 and an older movie created in 1991.

The animated film follows Morticia and Gomez Addams as they move to the suburbs to raise their two children, Wednesday and Pugsley. A realtor, Margaux Needler visits the Addams haunted mansion to renovate while relatives arrive for young Pugsley’s mazurka celebration.

Wednesday, an indifferent child meets Parker, the daughter of Margaux Needler, and end up becoming close friends. They tend to both feel as though their mothers are too strict which leads them both to making a drastic change in her actions.

Tension arises when the creepy family and their relatives arrive in town and resist the renovation plan. Margaux is uneasy about the situation and plots a plan to find a way around the family’s resistance.

“The Addams Family” is an amusing movie that is appealing to both children and parents. The animation is humorous and includes adventure scenes, which allows all audiences to stay entertained. As for the extended members of the Addams family, they feel more as an unnecessary addition because of their lack of humor.

I would highly recommend this movie to anyone that has seen the original television series, the original movie, or whoever is just looking for a fun, family-friendly movie to laugh and enjoy.
