COVID-19 has taken away a lot of things, but Ms. Borden, Key Club advisor, will be holding Operation Christmas Child with the Key Club again this year. Operation Christmas Child is a non-profit organization that collects essential needs for children as well as donations of kids toys or gifts for Christmas.

“I plan to host a virtual meeting with Key Club soon. Students and teachers will bring the completed boxes to me for drop off. Typically, we have a packing party in the library, but because of Covid this year we have changed plans,” states Ms. Borden.

Ms. Borden would also like to inform everyone who wants to participate: “We ideally need $9 per box to pay for shipping and tracking. Samaritans Purse has donated shoe boxes you can fill, or you can use your own shoe box. These are available in my classroom, and at a variety of local locations.” See Ms. Borden for more details.

According to the Operation Christmas Child website, National Collection Week is Nov. 16-23. For details on what to put in the shoebox, visit the site.
