Freshman Class President Ethan Achmoody adjusting to new environment
January 28, 2021
Ethan Achmoody was recently elected freshman class president! He answered some questions about the new role, and his school life in general. Ethan prefers in person school rather than online school because he learns much more effectively. He does, however, appreciate the way the hybrid schedule works.
This school year for a lot of students has been very different for a lot of students. Ethan states, “This year, school has been very different in several ways. As someone who may not be familiar with my background, I attended St. Francis Catholic School for 11 years. The transition to this school, without COVID-19 being a factor, was very difficult. The environment is very foreign for me. For me at first, it was a very chaotic and tumultuous environment. People everywhere, teachers everywhere, several classrooms, two large gymnasiums, an auditorium, etc. However, after almost four long months into the school year, I am adjusting just fine. With the intelligence and moral values that St. Francis instilled in me, I have been able to adjust. With COVID-19, it was a bit more difficult, considering two of my closest, dearest friends are in “b” group.”
Ethan feels as if he is a good fit for class president because he is very relatable. He considers himself to be friends with anyone who displays generosity, respect, transparency. Ethan also believes he brings intelligence, kindness, intuition, and open-mindedness to the table as our freshman class president. Ethan has one big goal in mind as class president. This is to implement a teacher appreciation week, he feels as if our teachers deserve more recognition all the time, but especially during COVID. Ethan also plays both the piano and the saxophone. Ethan could not seem to decide his favorite class as he enjoys most if not all of them stating “I have always loved and enjoyed structuring and writing essays and papers. With that said, I love English classes. However, I also enjoy Science, the basis and structure of life. This year my favorite class is among English Lit/ Seminar I with Mrs. Danver, English I with Mr. Cima, or Biology with Mrs. Marshall.”
I think Ethan Achmoody is a great fit for class president and we should be exited to see what he has in store.
