Looking for a Halloween movie to watch this year? Try Hubie Halloween!

Elle Smith, Staff Writer

There are plenty of great Halloween movies to watch this year, and Hubie Halloween is no exception. This film features Adam Sandler as Hubie, who is the good-hearted and innocent main character of Salem, Massachusetts.

Although he scares quite easily, Hubie takes it upon himself to keep the townspeople safe on the night of his favorite holiday: Halloween. Sadly, the people of Salem enjoy taking advantage of Hubie’s scaredy-cat nature by scaring him and making him embarrass himself.

This Halloween, however, something is off; Hubie discovers that multiple people have gone missing. Will he be able to find out who or what is behind these disappearances? Watch for yourself to find out!

With that being said, this movie, rated PG-13, includes some jabs at humor, as well as an overarching theme about how bullying can be very hurtful, even to someone as optimistic and humble as Hubie.

While I found this movie to be heartwarming and cheesy, it was also witty and darkly humorous, so even though it’s rated PG-13, there are some jokes that may be inappropriate for younger viewers or families altogether.

Nonetheless, Hubie Halloween is a definite comfort movie for this fall season, for the film is generally lighthearted and fun. You can stream it now on Netflix, so I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone who is looking for a good laugh.
