Peppermint Patty recipe is big fail

Peppermint Patty recipe is big fail

This edition I decided to try a recipe for the festive season. Homemade peppermint patties is what I decided to make.

The recipe wasn’t very difficult at all because it only called for light corn syrup, peppermint extract, powdered sugar, dark chocolate, and butter. First, you mix the corn syrup, butter, extract, and sugar all together into a bowl until it is the right consistency for a batter. Next, roll the batter into balls and place them on a pan in the freezer for 4-10 minutes. When those are pulled out of the freezer, melt chocolate in the microwave for 2 minutes and dip the balls into the melted chocolate. Finally, freeze the balls for 5 more minutes.

Unfortunately, overall the recipe wasn’t reliable; the  dough was VERY sticky, and it even pulled the coloring off of the pan that was being used. It wouldn’t shape into balls and ended up just being clumps of chocolate. I would not recommend this recipe, which I found on Pinterest.
